SWAN CLOCK CIRCA 1800 A good,George III oak and mahogany longcase clock, with 8-day movement, striking the hours on a bell. The arched 13in enamelled dial has subsidiary seconds and calendar dials. The well painted dial shows two swans by their nest in a lakeland scene in the arch and gilded fans in the corners. The mahogany trunk has boxwood line inlays to the canted sides with a long shaped trunk door cross-banded with mahogany. The mahogany base has a central oak panel base which is also cross banded in mahogany and is set on bracket feet. The mahogany hood has turned pillars and swan neck pediments surmounted by a brass finial. The 8-day movement has been cleaned,bushed and polished and is in good working order.
