MAKER- KELLETT, THORNE

Listed Maker CIRCA 1835

An attractive Oak and Mahogany longcase clock with 8-day movement and subsidiary seconds dial striking the hours on a bell. The well painted 13inch arched dial has a rural  shooting scene with a farmer and his dog in the arch and paintings of spaniels in the corner spandrels. The mahogany hood has turned columns and swan neck   pediments with a central wooden finial. The well figured  oak and mahogany case has a shaped oak trunk door with a paneled arched mahogany feature both to the trunk door and base and  raised on bracket feet.The mahogany  trunk has attractive rosewood inlays. The 8 day movement has been cleaned , overhauled and polished and is in good working order.
