Listed Maker in Baillie ,born 1765 died 1852

A small,slim, Scottish George III Oak longcase clock with 8-day movement, subsidiary seconds and calendar dials striking the hours on a bell. The well painted arched dial has sprays of flowers and paintings of roses in the corner spandrels. The hood has brass-capped turned columns and arched  pediment with a central leaf motif. The oak case has an arched  trunk door with panelled base and raised on bracket feet. The 8 day movement has been cleaned and overhauled and polished and is in good working order. The dial falseplate is stamped “F.Byrne,Birmingham” with the number 1453 on the back. Byrne is listed by Tennant as working between 1780-1810.
