A good oak and mahogany, Northumberland cross banded longcase clock, with 30hour movement, striking the hours on a bell.
The arched dial has a well-painted Highland shepherd boy in Scottish dress with his dog in a rural landscape. The corners of the dial painted with gilded flowers. The medium oak case has a shaped trunk door cross-banded with mahogany and above and below the trunk door is mahogany panels. The panelled oak base is also cross-banded with mahogany and raised on bracket feet. The mahogany hood has attractive cresting and surmounted by 3 brass, eagle finials
The 30hour movement has been cleaned, polished and overhauled and is in good working order. The clock has crown hands and dummy winding holes and seconds hand which was done by the clock maker to give the appearance of an 8-day clock.
